Within the territory of Dobrich is running the project "Cross-border business center for tourism development and construction of Agro and Fish Market" program CBC Romania-Bulgaria 2007-2013 with leading partner Municipality Navodari, Romania and Bulgarian partner non-profit organization European institute for cultural tourism "EUREKA" Dobrich.
The purpose of the project is to promote business cooperation in tourism and the fishing industry between the two border regions - Navodari and Balchik. To achieve this objective EUREKA Association organized a meeting for exchange of experience between the Romanian and Bulgarian representatives of tourist business from the municipality of Balchik and the Municipality Navodari that support the process of business cooperation in the border region.
The event was held on 15 and 16 May 2014 in the town of Navodari. The agenda includes a visit to the most popular tourist attractions of Navodari and sharing of best practices. From the Bulgarian side will participate 10 companies - tour operators and hoteliers.
At the meeting Krasen Roussev, manager of the non-profit organization European Institute of Cultural Tourism "EUREKA" held a presentation about possible joint tourism products and initiatives. Other project activities include:
- Establishment of joint tourist infrastructure: Business center for trade fairs, events and fish market in the municipality Navodari, Romania. Necessary equipment to maintain fresh fish products - refrigerators, cooking equipment, tables, barbecue;
- Organization of two fish festivals and culinary events;
- Preparation culinary handbook with traditional fish dishes from the border region;
- Broadcast television and radio commercials to promote the project and encourage cooperation in the tourism and fishery business;
- Stimulating marketing of agricultural and fishery products between the Bulgarian and Romanian companies;
- Press conferences to inform the public about the project and its activities, advertising materials, publication of press releases.
The project duration is 15 months (30.03.2013 - 06.29.2014) with a total value € 1 469 161,14, with 84.82 percent of the funds provided by the European Regional Development Fund, 13% national co-financing and 2.18% personal contribution of the project partners.
