THE TOWN OF BALCHIK
Balchik is a city on the Black Sea in northeastern Bulgaria, Dobrich, situated 42 km from Varna. He is currently one of the main tourist attractions in Bulgaria on the Black Sea.
The ancient Balchik was established by the Thracians. Later is became a Greek colonel that was renamed to Krunoi after that Dionysopolis. When the first Greek settlers came to these places, they were enchanted by the scenery and fertile soil that produced incredible wine grape. The wine was so amazing that the Greeks named the city after the God of wine and joy - Dionysus. The town established itself as an important port and trading center. Romans invaded it and displaced local residents. Later the city decayed.
